Obituary

Ms. Melsia Ruth Delaney  was born March 25, 1939 in Lexington, MS to Pearl Wilson and Will Allen Wilson whom both preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were two sons: Mr. Hubert Delaney, Jr. and Benjamin Delaney;  two brothers: Mr. Clarence Wilson, and Mr. David Tyler; and two sisters: Ms. Lavada Watson, and Ms. Emory Lee Williams.
 
Ruth Attended School in Lexington, MS in the School House bottom. Ruth Accepted Christ at an early age and later joined Smith Chapel M. B. Church in Flora, MS, she was a member there for over 20 years, where she served as a Nurse Usher and a Sunday School Teacher until she could no longer travel to Flora,  then in 2020 she moved her membership to White Oak M. B. Church in Jackson, MS.
 
Ruth Owned a Cleaning Service called Grace and Mercy where she worked until she retired.

 
Ruth Is survived by her loving daughter, Dorothy “Denise” Henderson, of Jackson, MS;  six grand kids: Laneyana Marie Henderson of Jackson, MS; Beonka Delaney of Texas;  Anthony Delaney, Jessica Delaney and Shannon Delaney all of California; and Guam Delaney of Chicago, IL;  a daughter-in-law, Snow Delaney of California;  a step-mother, Fleccie Wilson of Flora, MS; one sister, Sarah Green (Charles), of Brandon, MS;  three brothers:  Willie Wilson (Shelia), Johnny Tyler, both of Jackson, MS; and Larry Tyler of Austin, TX; a Goddaughter, Debbie Lassinger; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. 

Visitation Hours will be held Friday 08/20/21 from 12-7 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday 08/21/21 at 11:00 a.m. at Autumn Woods Cemetery located on 4000 W. Northside Dr. Jackson, MS 39209
