Ms. Mattie Louise Brooks was born May 11, 1928 in Terry Mississippi to the union of Sam and Bessie Denson Brooks.
She accepted Christ as her personal savior at a early age and was baptized at Jones Chapel M. B. Church. She later moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she became a member of Fellowship M. B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Clay Evans. After the illness of her mother, she relocated back to Mississippi and renewed her membership back at Jones Chapel M. B. Church. Where she was a faithful and devoted member of the church. She also served as a mother of the church, taught Sunday school and bible class.
Mother Louise Brooks was a woman who loved the Lord. Louise was a hardworking employee of General Motors. She dedicated 20+ years of service to her job and she also started a choir that sang at her retirement from Delphi Packards Electric, Clinton, MS. Louise loved her family. She would do anything in the world for all of them.
Mother Brooks departed this life on Monday, July 5, 2021 in Jackson, Mississippi. Preceding her in death were her parents, her sisters: Pearlie Warren and Mary Roberts and her brother, Paul H. Brooks, Sr.
Louise leaves to mourn her passing, her sister, Bessie Brooks of Jackson, MS; a sister-in-law, Annie Stein Brooks of New Orleans, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Brooks will be on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Peoples Funeral Home, 886 North Farish Street, Jackson, Mississippi from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Jones Chapel M. B. Church, 517 Railroad Ave., Flora, Mississippi at 1:00 p.m. She will repose at the church at 12:00 noon. Her final resting place will be at Garden Memorial Cemetery, 8001 Highway 49 North, Jackson, Mississippi.
