Sister Eleanor R. (Britton) Taylor was born in Tougaloo, Mississippi on January 11, 1937 to Ben Britton, Sr. and Sudie Guice Britton. Sister Taylor departed this life at her home on January 17, 2022 in Jackson, Mississippi.
She confessed Christ at an early age at White Oak M. B. Church in Tougaloo, MS. She later moved her membership to St. Matthew M. B. Church under the Pastoralship of Rev. W.M. McQuirter. She received her education at Lanier High School in Jackson, Mississippi where she received her High School Diploma in 1956. She retired after 40 years of service from Cabot Lodge in Jackson, MS.
Her hobbies included spending time with her family, working puzzles, and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Sudie Britton; husband, Willie Taylor; brothers, Joseph Britton, Ben Britton, and Melvin Britton; sisters, Jenette Evans, Cora B. McClendon, Jetha L. Burns, and Rosie Lee Houston; one son, Andrew Tyrone Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memories: four daughters: Phyllis Britton, Wendy Britton, Onita Levy (Willie) and Eleanor Williams (Malcolm); two sons: Charles R. Taylor, Sr. and Cleophus Taylor (LaTonya); Willie Faye Gray and Willie James Taylor; three brothers: Jack E. Britton, Sr. (Dorothy), Charles A. Britton, and Ross C. Britton; one sister-in-law, Ruth Britton; and a host of grand- children, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation Hours will be held Friday 01/21/22 from 12-7 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 01/22/22 at 11:00 a.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel and proceed to Avery Garden Cemetery in Tougaloo, MS
