Mrs. Vera Lee McDowell

Obituary

Mrs. Vera Lee Warfield Richard McDowell was born on October 25, 1938, to the late Mr. Roosevelt Richard and Mrs. Sally Richard in Sharkey County, MS. Proceeding her in death is one brother Mr. Roosevelt Warfield and one son Mr. Renard Warfield.

Vera attended Sharkey County public school and later on to college. She married the love of her life Mr. Willie McDowell in 1968 and to this union seven beautiful children were born: Rodney, Kaspa, Prentiss, Therina, Youlanda, Katrina and Renard. 
 

Vera was an active member of St Johns Missionary Baptist Church in Camden, MS. She sang in the choir and loved worshiping God. She worked various jobs throughout her life until her health began to fail. 
 

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021, from 12-7 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home, located at 886 N. Farish Street - Jackson, MS 39202

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St John Missionary Baptist Church, located at 182 Mt. Pilgrim Road in Camden, MS 39045
