Mrs. Mary Lee Thompson was born in Jackson, MS to the late Florence Taylor and J.C. Rushing on March 3, 1948. She was the third of four children.
She received her formative education at Sally Reynolds Elementary School and Jim Hill High School in Jackson, MS. She went on to graduate from LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, NY. Following college Mary was employed at South shore Nursing Home, in Freeport, NY, where she worked as an LPN until she retired. Upon retirement, she and her late husband Frank Thompson moved from New York back to Jackson. They were married for 23 years. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Oscar Lee Wade, Johnny Lee Wade, and Fredrick Lee Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Anthony Taylor and Wendy Campbell of Jackson, MS; and Tito (Bridgett) Campbell of Brandon, MS; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; a special friend, Chico Moore of Birmingham, AL; and a host of family members and friends by whom she will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be at Peoples Chapel, 886 North Farish Street, Jackson, Mississippi at 2:00 p.m. with her final resting place being, Garden Memorial Park Cemetery, 8001 Highway 49 North, Jackson, Mississippi.
