Edna Pearl Moore Brown "Big Mama", the daughter of the late Archie and Clifton Moore was born on September 16, 1944 in Madison County, Mississippi. She attended East Flora. She confessed Christ at an early age and attended Mount Center Missionary Baptist Church.
Edna was united in holy matrimony to the late Charlie (CJ) Brown in 1962 and to this union, two children were born. She moved to Flora, MS and later joined Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church along with her husband where she served faithfully.
Edna was a very hard worker all of her life and known as a strong woman by her family and members of her community. She was always giving and never met a stranger and would help and take in anyone that was in need. Edna was affectionately called and known by her family and friends as 'Big Mama' and 'Edna Earl'.She took care of her family and raised her children and many of her grandchildren.
She would not only feed and clothed relatives, but also many neighbors, strangers and drifters alike. Even the animals such as stray cats and dogs knew where to come when they were hungry. She was always welcoming and accepting of all people. Edna Brown, an upstanding citizen, the matriarch of her family and a giver by nature, was truly the epitome of love shown in action.
