Mrs. Arlee Lockwood was the oldest of four children born on November 15, 1930 to Bill and Mattie Goodlow in Morton, Mississippi. Arlee Lookwood departed this life on December 14, 2021 to join her Heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Pearlie and Maxine; one brother, John Henry; and her husband, Sam Lockwood, Jr.
The family moved to Jackson, Mississippi, when she was young. She joined St. Peter M. B. Church and became a life time member.
She loved her family. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings and traveling with her children, especially spending Christmas in Atlanta, Georgia until her health failed.
Arlee Lockwood leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters: Helen L. Polk (Robert) of Jackson, MS; Mae Ann Gladney of Clinton, MS; and Linda Diann Scott (Napoleen) of Brandon, MS; three sons: Willie Lee Lockwood of Goodman, MS; Tyrone Lockwood (Betty) of Jackson, MS; and Samuel Lockwood (Rosie) of Jackson, MS; one step-son, Ellis Harvey of Jackson, MS; two sisters-in-law: Jeannett Williams and Eddie Mae Hooker both of Jackson, MS; one brother-in-law, Tommie Lee Lockwood (Gwen) of Glenn Allen, VA; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two nieces, one nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing for Mrs. Arlee Lockwood will begin on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Peoples Funeral Home, 886 North Farish Street, Jackson, Mississippi from 1:00 noon until 7:00 p.m.
Graveside services for Mrs. Arlee Lockwood will be at Autumn Woods Memorial Cemetery, 4000 West Northside Drive, Jackson, Mississippi at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021.
