Mr. Jonas Eugene Davis, Sr., was born December 3, 1943 in Madison, MS to the late Clarence Palmer and Alice Davis Partee. He departed this life at 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at home in Jackson, MS. He attended Madison‑Rosenwald school in Madison MS.
Jonas Eugene Davis professed "Jesus as Lord" and "Savior" and was baptized at an early age at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Church. He served as a choir member. He was employed with Griffin Construction and retired after 30 years as a Master Cement Finisher of devoted service.
He was married to Debora Davis for 25 years. Jonas Davis was a straight forward and helpful person from humbling beginnings. As a self‑taught mechanic, he loved working on cars. His mechanical skills were astronomical. He loved to cook with his apron on. But more importantly, he LOVED his family. The Davis family will miss him tremendously.
With extraordinary sadness of his transition and homegoing memory he leaves his devoted and loving wife, Debora Davis; two daughters: Jacqueline Fay Davis, Tara Deneise Davis, one son Jonas Eugene Davis, Jr., all of Jackson, MS blended children: Trell Davis (Carolyn), Jonesboro, GA; Elton Davis Sr., Seattle, WA; and Michelle Davis, Brandon, MS; three brothers: Lee Daniel "Dan" Partee, Gluckstadt, MS; Lawyer Partee, Jr. and Charles Partee, Jackson MS; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members. A special mother‑in‑law, Mary Bell Davis.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Clarence Palmer and Alice Davis Partee. His son, Patrick Angelo Davis, a sister, Ardelia Davis Gray, and Bennie Lou Davis.
