On October 31, 1946, God smiled down on the late Cassell and Frances, and blessed them with a baby boy, Johnny (Dean) Taylor. Johnny accepted Christ at an early age. He confessed his love for the Lord and was a faithful Deacon at Liberty M. B. Church, Canton, MS.
Johnny graduated from Roger High School, Canton, MS, the Class of 1968. And later graduated from Holmes Jr. College. Johnny was the Manager for Madison Furniture Company until his retirement.
Johnny united in Holy Matrimony to Martha Ellis Taylor. He departed this life on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the St. Dominic Hospital, Jackson, MS. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia; his brother, Lee Andrew, Sr. and sisters: Martha, Helen, Ruth and Ora.
Johnny (Dean) Taylor, Sr. leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Martha; four daughters: Lorraine Mack, Tracey Blackmon, Shelia (Yanquae) Williams, and Teluish (Toroski) Hamlin; three sons: Arthur (Tonya) Mack, Johnny Jr.; and Larodrick Adams; brother, Leroy Taylor; sisters: Essie Lee, Myrtle, and Jean; Sister-in-law, Bobbie Taylor Hamblin; and a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday. April 21, 2021 at Peoples Funeral Home, 886 North Farish Street, Jackson, MS from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Chapel A.M.E. Church, 361 Robinson Road, Canton, MS.
